A 35-year-old man in Ghaziabad was arrested on Sunday for allegedly causing the death of a 70-year-old woman during a dispute with her son in Madhuban Bapudham. Police stated that the deceased's son, Bijendra Kumar, had an argument with the accused, Majid, who resides in the same neighborhood. An official reported that the woman, Ramvati Devi, intervened to shield her son and was pushed by Majid, leading to her fatal injuries. ACP Abhishek Srivastava mentioned that Bijendra lived with his brother and mother in LIG flats under the Kanshiram Avas Yojna in Madhuban Bapudham. The incident occurred when Majid, an e-rickshaw driver allegedly intoxicated, was confronted by Bijendra near their residence late in the night. Ramvati tried to defuse the situation but ended up getting pushed by Majid, resulting in severe injuries and her subsequent death. The accused has been charged under several sections of the law, produced in court, and remanded to judicial custody.
